Baba-oğul aşkının “yüzler”e yansıması
The love between father and son reflected on “faces”
Bursa’da tekstilin kalbi Merinos Tekstil Sanayi Müzesi, bu ay lif sanatının en güzel “yüzler”ini Bursalılarla
buluşturdu. Kendine özgü teknikleri ve oğlundan aldığı ilhamı sanat aşkıyla bir araya getiren Cafer Arslan’a ait
eserler, “Lif-Tekstil Sanatı Etkinlikleri Projesi” kapsamında sergilendi.
This month, the Merinos Textile Industry Museum introduced the most beautiful “faces” of fiber art with the people
of Bursa. Works of art by Cafer Arslan, with his distinctive technique and his inspiration derived from his son, were
exhibited in the “Fiber-Textile Art Project”.

sınırsızlığı, sanatçının
kendine has teknikleriyle
buluştuğunda ortaya çıkan

tarihleri arasında “Merinos
Tekstil Sanayi Müzesi”ndeydi.
Sergide lif sanatının en
güzel ve özel örneklerini, bu
sanatının sıra dışılığı ile kendi
yaratıcılığını birleştirerek sunan
Cafer Arslan’ın, bir çocuğun
doğumundan iki yaşına kadar
olan sürecini anlatmak için
yaprak liflerini kullandığı
eserler yer alıyor. Eserlerin baş
kahramanı, tüm yüzlerin sahibi
ise Cafer Arslan’ın oğlu Tuna.
Dünya çapında yapılan,
çağdaş ve özgün yaklaşımlarla
zenginleşen lif sanatı; her
toplumun kültürüne, iklimine
ve yaşam felsefesine
bağlı olarak değişkenlik
gösteriyor. Endüstri devrimiyle
başlayıp günümüze kadar
gelen bu sanat, beslendiği
toplumun etkileriyle birlikte
tekstil ve sanat arasındaki
bağın da yansıması. Ticari
bir sektör, bir sanatçının
bakış açısı ve yaratıcılığı ile
It is hard to describe the
splendor that comes alive when
the exclusivity and infinity of art
meets with the artists’ specific
technique; you cannot get
enough of it. The best examples
of this fact were seen at the “My
Faces” exhibition in December
17, 2013 – January 17, held at the
Merinos Textile Industry Museum.
The exhibition displays the best
and the most special cases of
fiber art as we witness the growth
of a child from his birth to his
second birthday, created from
leaf fibers with the individual
creativity of Cafer Arslan. The
hero of the works, the owner of
all the faces is Cafer Arslan’s son
Tuna.
Fiber art, which is practiced
around the world and enriched
by contemporary and unique
approaches, changes according
to the culture, climate, and life
style of a society. This form of
art that started with industrial
revolution is a reflection of the
connection between art and
textile along with the effects of
the society it feeds upon. Cafer
Arslan’s particular style in his
15 works in display draws your
attention when many cannot
even imagine the outcome of a
collision between a commercial
sector and an artist’s view and
creativity. You can both admire
the works from a distance, as you
would an oil painting, or look up-
close and feel the way the fiber
and fabric paint come together.
