Anything in this exhibition,
including the friends in his fond
world, his times with them, about
ten thousand photographs,
costumes he designed for
himself, records, his poems
which we eventually know as
lyrics, his notes, everything
from his childhood until old age,
transmits his voice to the “most
valuable audience”. Besides,
the mini-cinema, established
within the scope of exhibition,
displays short scenes from Zeki
Müren films. The exhibition,
which consists of all memories
meticulously preserved by
Turkish Education Foundation
and Turkish Armed Forces
Mehmetçik Foundation and is
prepared by Yapı Kredi Private
Banking and Yapı Kredi Culture
Centre, comprises everything
people of Bursa may want to
learn and know about their fellow
townsman.
The bittersweet smile on the
face of Bursa locals, wandering
among the items from the life of
Zeki Müren in Tofaş Museum of
Cars and Anatolian Carriages,
describes his bond with the
city and its inhabitants without
need for words. Thanks to this
exhibition, people of Bursa
explore very different and private
aspects of him, apart from what
they watched, listened, saw and
“knew for years”.
“My forename is Mesut
(happy), my name is
Bahtiyar (joyful)/ This is
how you have known me
for years/ So you have
listened songs from Mesut
Bahtiyar”
