Muradiye Külliyesi’nin bir
önemi de geçen yıl “Bursa
ve Cumalıkızık: Osmanlı
İmparatorluğu’nun Doğuşu”
isimli adaylık dosyasıyla
birlikte UNESCO Dünya
Miras Listesi’ne kabul edilmiş
olmasıydı. Böylece Bursa,
2014 yılı itibariyle Türkiye’nin
12., dünyanın da 998. Üstün
Evrensel Değere Sahip Miras
Alanı olarak kabul edilmiş
ve bir dünya mirası olmayı
başarmıştı.

şairlere, yazarlara ilham veren
tarifi zor bir etkisi vardır bu
semtin. Bu manevi büyünün
kaynağı da kuşkusuz Muradiye
Külliyesi. Burada yapılan ilk
Muradiye Complex is the resting
place for the souls of sultans,
princes and emperors, whose
life we nowadays watch on TV
series. It is a time tunnel where
“the bitter fruit of sorrow”, as
described by novelist Ahmet
Hamdi Tanpınar, is embedded in
the walls; this time tunnel reflects
the spirit of its time, gives its
name to the quarter, and is full
of secrets, mysteries, wonderful
details and memories…
Members of dynasty, who could
not live as brothers in their
lifetime, now enjoy brotherly
peace under a single dome.
Muradiye Complex (Külliye)
was damaged by earthquakes
throughout history; it remained
silent for centuries, in the
hope of grabbing the attention
it deserves. After the recent
comprehensive reparation, the
Complex took its final form.
And it unleashed, one by one,
all its secrets for people of
Bursa who embraced it. The
Complex presented centuries
old peerless hand-carvings,
hidden under Baroque patterns
added by Ottomans under
Western influence. The Complex
shared with the public not only
550 year-old Ottoman carvings
under 150 year-old Baroque
drawings, but also many other
stories: Kündekari works that
bear dust of centuries, admirable
tiling, the blood of brothers
shed for fights for the throne,
the first ever Outdoor Islamic
Tombstone Museum full of
