63 Aylardır suskundu; kilitliydi kapıları… Önünden gelip geçenlere karşı mahcuptu. Onları eskisi gibi şefkatle kucaklayamıyordu çünkü. Yalnızca geçip gitmelerine izin veriyordu. Bir yandan da heyecanlıydı; Bursalıların karşısına gençleşip, tazelenip yıllara meydan okurcasına çıkacağı için. Günü geldi, büyük buluşma gerçekleşti ve Bursa’nın Tayyare’sinin kapıları bu yıl Ekim ayından itibaren tamamen açıldı. 85 yaşında bir bilge Tayyare Kültür Merkezi… Büyük bir ailenin en yaşlı, en saygıdeğer, en sevgi dolu üyesi… Bursa’nın sosyal ve kültürel hafızası… Cumhuriyet tarihindeki ilk modern sinema- tiyatro-konser salonlarından biri… Türkiye’de parmakla gösterilen örneklerden… Her bir köşesi, Bursalıların anılarıyla dolu… Hem Bursa’nın hem Bursalıların hem de Türkiye’nin tarihinde hatırı sayılır bir yeri var. Tayyare Cemiyeti’nin yaptırıp 1932’de hizmete sunduğu bu eski dost daha önce de restorasyon geçirmişti. Yıllar boyunca sanat dünyasının ünlü isimlerini Bursalılarla buluşturmuş; kentin hafızasına kazınan birçok kültürel etkinliği Bursalılara sunmuştu. Bugün ise Bursa Şehir Tiyatrosu tarafından bu yıl sahneye konan Troyalı Kadınlar oyunu ile 17 Ekim Salı Günü yeniden kapılarını aralıyor. Binanın adını aldığı bugünkü adı Türk Hava Kurumu olan Türk Tayyare Cemiyeti, Kurtuluş Savaşı’nda ve önceki dönemlerde Türk hava gücünün yetersizliği ortaya çıkınca 16 Şubat 1925’te kuruldu. Zamanla tüm ülkede 500’den fazla şubesi açıldı. Bursa’daki şube, merkez şube ile eş zamanlı olarak açıldı ve kısa süre içinde Bursa’nın ilçelerine de taştı. Toplanan yardımlarla ülkenin hem güvenliğine hem de kültür politikalarına önemli katkılar sağladı. Hatta bugün havaalanı olarak kullanılan meydanı satın olarak Türk Hava Kuvvetleri’ne armağan etti. Daha sonra ise Bursa’ya bir sinema-tiyatro binası yaptırılması kararı alındı. “Bu cesamet ve bu sistemde tiyatro binası İstanbul’da da yoktur” 1930’lu yıllardan bu yana Bursalılara hizmet veren Tayyare Kültür Merkezi, yıllar önce kapılarını ilk kez açtığında herkesi kendine hayran bırakmıştı. Bursa’nın “Tayyare”si öyle heybetli ve hareketliydi ki Cumhuriyet It was silent for months; its doors were locked. It was embarrassed to face its visitors. Because it could not embrace them with compassion as it used to do. On the other hand, it was excited; excited for the day when it would finally revitalize, refresh and finally look face to face with the people of Bursa as though defying the years. The day came, the big meet up happened and the Tayyare of Bursa was finally fully opened this October. Tayyare Centre of Culture is an 85 years old wise man... It is the oldest, most esteemed and most endearious member of a large family… It’s the social and cultural memory of Bursa… One of the first modern cinema- theatre-concert halls of the Republic’s history… One of the most significant examples in Turkey… Each of its corners are filled with Bursa’s memories… It has a considerable place in the history of both Bursa, the people of Bursa as well as Turkey. This old friend, build by the Tayyare Society in 1932 underwent renovation before. It introduced the famous names of the art world with people of Bursa; offered numerous cultural activity that is now engraved in the city’s memory to the people of Bursa. Now, on Tuesday October 17th, it is opening its doors with the The Trojan Woman play staged by the Bursa City Theatre. Turkish Airplane (Tayyare) Society, which gives the name to the building and is today known as Turkish Aviation Association, was found in February 16th 1925 when the Independence War and the previous periods revealed the insufficiency of Turkish air force. In time, 500 branches opened all over Turkey. The branch in Bursa was opened at the same time with the headquarters and in a short time it’s influence expanded into Bursa’s districts as well. The donations collected have provided significant contribution to both the country’s safety as well as its cultural policies. Furthermore, it even purchased the area that is used as an airport today and donated it to Turkish Air Force. Later, it was decided to build a cinema- theatre building in Bursa. “A theatre building of this magnitude and system cannot be found even in İstanbul” Tayyare Culture Centre that’s serving the people of Bursa since 1930’s mesmerized everyone when it opened its doors for the first time many years ago. “Tayyare” of Bursa was so magnificent and active that Cumhuriyet Newspaper’s headline for its opening said “A theatre building of this magnitude and system cannot be found even in İstanbul”. The project of this venue gifted to the city by the Tayyare Society, which was announced to be established to “Own the skies” in the first years of the Republic, was completed by the famous architect Arif Hikmet Koyunoğlu who won the international architectural project
