58 Yeşiliyle, teleferiğiyle, tarihiyle, insanıyla çok seviyorum burayı. Lezzetleri de vazgeçilecek gibi değil Bursa’nın. Kebabı, pideli köftesi, kestane şekeri, şeftalisi... Daha keşfedemediğim bir sürü şey var tabi. Ama zamanla öğreniyorum Bursa’yı da, Bursalı olmayı da. Okul dışında nelerle ilgileniyorsun? Vakit bulup hatta yaratıp etkin olmaya gayret ediyorum. Bursa Kent Konseyi Gençlik Meclisi üyesiyim. Gezilere katılıyorum, fotoğraf çekiyorum, spor yapıyorum. Okulun takımında futbol oynuyorum. Elimden geldiğince kentin kültür ve sanat etkinliklerini takip ediyorum. Onunla sohbet ettikçe, neden insanlarla bu kadar çabuk kaynaştığını ve yalnızca birkaç yıl önce geldiği bir ülkede nasıl bu kadar geniş bir çevre edindiğini anlıyor insan. Pırıl pırıl bakan gözleri, insanın içini ısıtan gülüşüyle bizden biri Saleh. Kendi deyimiyle bir dünya insanı, Orta Afrikalı ve Bursalı... Saleh gibi insanları tanıdıkça, insanın kendini bir yere ait hissetmesi için orada doğması gerekmediğini düşünmemek elde değil. Hayatın sınırlarını kendi koydukları kurallarla aşan; zamanlara, mekânlara takılmadan yaşayan yerli yabancılar onlar... Bursa’ya geldim. 3. sınıftayım. Ne yapacaksın okul bittiğinde? Gelecekle ilgili planların, hedeflerin neler? Lise yıllarında gitmek istediğim ülke Fransa’ydı. En kısa zamanda oraya gitmek, Paris’i görmek istiyorum. Temmuz ayında böyle bir planım da var. Ama tamamen tatil amaçlı. Çünkü yaşamak istediğim ülke Türkiye, yerleşmek istediğim şehir Bursa. Fransa’dan gelin getiririm belki de Bursa’ya. Geleli çok olmadı ama çok çabuk ısındım bu şehre. İnsanları samimi, yardımsever, hoşgörülü. Kısa süre içinde çok arkadaş edindim. Başka bir ülkede yaşamak ciddi bir karar. Bu cesaretinin kaynağı ne? Ciddi bir karar ve gerçekten zor. Ama dediğim gibi buradaki insanlar çok samimi ve ben kendimi her şeyden önce bir “dünya insanı” olarak görüyorum. Annemi çok erken yaşta kaybettim, onu çok özlüyorum. Burada bu boşluğumu dolduran, sevgi dolu insanlarla tanıştım. İyi insanların olduğu her yer yuvadır, ailedir. Ben de bu aile sıcaklığını buldum Bursa’da. Bu ülkede, bu şehirde yaşamaya karar vermek bu yüzden pek de zor olmadı benim için. Bu cesaret gerektiren kararımdaki en büyük etken de yine bu ülke oldu. Görükle tarafında, benim gibi yabancı ve öğrenci olan arkadaşlarımla birlikte kalıyoruz. Her anlamda birbirimize destek oluyoruz. Onlar da benim gibi düşünüyorlar. Sen de bir anlamda Bursalısın. Bursa’nın, Bursalı olmanın hangi yönlerini seviyorsun? Bursalı olmak, öyle hissetmek çok güzel. Bursalı olduğum kadar Bursasporluyum da. How long have you been in Bursa? It’s been four years. After the preparation courses in İstanbul, I applied for the Public Administration Program in Uludağ University and came to Bursa. I’m in my 3rd year here. What will you do when you graduate? What are your future plans, targets? I wanted to go to France in my high school years. I want to go there as soon as possible and see Paris. I have this travel plan for July. But purely for vacation. Because the city I want to live in is Turkey, the city I want to inhabit is Bursa. Maybe I may bring a bride from France to Bursa. I haven’t been here long but I grew accustomed to it quickly. The people are sincere, helpful, tolerant. I made lots of friends in a short time. Living in another country is a serious decision. What is your source of courage? It is a serious decision and indeed a difficult one. But as I said, the people here are very sincere and before all else, I see myself as a global person. I lost my mother at a very early age and I miss her a lot. Here I met very lovely people that fills this space inside me. Everywhere is home with good people around you, it becomes family. I found this warmth in Bursa. Therefor it wasn’t a very difficult decision for me to live in this country, in this city. And these were the principle reasons for my courage to decide staying here. I stay together with foreign student friends on the FSM side. We support each other in every way. They think like I do as well. In a way, you became a citizen of Bursa. Which aspects of Bursa and being a Bursa citizen do you like? Being a Bursa citizen, feeling as one is very beautiful. As much as I love Bursa, I also love Bursaspor. The green, the cable car going up the mountain, its history, its people, I love it all. Also the food is fantastic here. The kebab, the meatball on dough, chestnut candy, peaches… There are also much more I need to discover. But I’m learning Bursa in time, as well as being a Bursa citizen. What do you do outside of school? Whenever I have time, or let’s say I create some time, I try to be active. I am a member of Bursa City Council Youth Assembly. I do tours, I practice photography, I do sports. I play soccer on the school’s team. I try to follow the cultural and artistic activities in the city the best I can. Talking with him clearly shows how he could get along with people so quickly and how he could create such a large network of people in only a few years in a country he just moved in. Saleh is one of us with his bright sparkling eyes and his smile that warms you. With his words, he is a global citizen, from Central Africa and Bursa… Getting to know people like Saleh makes one think that perhaps you don’t need to be born in a place to belong there.
