other albums followed it. In 2004,
the album “Water” was released
which I see as my passage to
“apprenticeship”. The album
entitled “800” was released in
2007 which I had prepared for
the 800th birthday of Mevlana
Celaleddin Rumi and which
was selected number one in
the European World Music List.
“800” was my gift to Mevlana and
then I asked myself, “What else
can I do from now on?” I wanted
to give credit to what was given
to me by God. I shifted towards
the fields of my own education
and I opened exhibitions. Just
like Evliya Çelebi, I said “Seyahat
Ya Resulallah” and started
on my journeys. I travelled
around the world and collected
different sounds. I brought those
sounds of the world together
after a 6 year hiatus in the two
“World” albums one of which
was acoustic “Gün Doğumu”
(Sunrise) and the other one was
electronic “Gün Batımı” (Sunset).
The song in this album entitled
“Hidden” later on was included in
the 16th Buddha Bar album.
How frequently do you visit
Bursa if you ever find the
chance and how do you
spend your time here?
Unfortunately, I cannot, I wish I
could but we have been touring
like crazy during the past decade
and also living in Canada makes
it that much more difficult. That is
why when we come to Bursa we
sit at home with my parents and
chat. Of course I always visit my
dear old friend Sait for some tea.
Good friends and good souls
meet there.
Where and with whom are
you working now? What
kind of projects do you
have that you can share
with us?
Right now I am collaborating
with my good friend and
fabulous artist Arzu Kaprol who
is also from Bursa. Last year
we worked on the Hollagramic
Fashion Show, this year dear
Şebnem Ferah also joined us
and we carried out a new “Dare
to Dream” themed multimedia
project with the support of
valuable artists. Currently, we
are working on carrying it to
different parts of the world. In
addition, we are releasing the
first album of our ney master
brother Burak Malçok as part
of the support given every year
our record company Onearth
Records; it will probably be
released towards mid-May. I can
keep on listing projects, however
we are also trying to spare some
time to ourselves amidst all
these projects to carry out our
spiritual homework so that we do
not neglect our pupilage at the
school of being a human.

Bu albümdeki “Hidden” isimli
parça daha sonra Buddha
Bar’ın 16. albümünde de yer
aldı.

oluyorsa ne sıklıkla
geliyor, nasıl vakit
geçiriyorsunuz?
Maalesef olmuyor, olmasını
dilerdim ancak son 10 yılda çok
deli gibi bir tur halindeyiz, ayrıca
Kanada’da yaşıyor olmam
isleri biraz daha zor kılıyor. Bu
yüzden Bursa’ya geldiğimizde
anne ve babamızla baş başa
evde oturup dertleşiyoruz. Tabi
olmazsa olmazların başında
sevgili dostum Sait’in yanına
çay içmeye uğramak her zaman
var. Güzel dostlar, güzel ruhlar
orada buluşuyor.

yürüyoruz. Geçen sene birlikte
Hollagramic Fashion Show’u
gerçekleştirmiştik, bu sene
sevgili Şebnem Ferah’ı da
aramıza katıp “Hayal Etmeye
Cüret Et” teması ile çok
değerli sanatçı dostların da
desteği ile yeni bir multimedia
proje gerçekleştirdik. Şimdi
bunu dünyanın değişik
yerlerine taşıma sürecindeyiz.
Onun dışında Onearth Plak
şirketimizin gençlere verdiği
desteğin bir parçası olarak her
sene seçtiği bir genç sanatçının
albümünü hayata geçirme
sürecinde bu sene çok sevgili
Neyzen kardeşimiz Burak
Malçok’un ilk albümü yapıyoruz,
mayıs ortasında çıkacak.
Projeler sıralamayla bitmez,
ancak bunca projenin arasında,
kendimize zaman ayırıp, insan
olma okulundaki öğrenciliğimizi
ihmal etmemek için manevi
ev ödevlerimizi yapmaya
çalışıyoruz.
