kalmak isteyen birçok
ziyaretçi ahşabın sıcaklığına,
doğal yaşamın çekiciliğine
kapılıyor ve kendini bir açık
hava müzesinde hissediyor.
Burada daha uzun vakitler
geçirmek istiyor. Zaten köyde
kalınabilecek birçok pansiyon
da bulunuyor.
Yüksek avlu duvarları ile çevrili
evler birbirine çok yakın ve
akraba olan aileler neredeyse
iç içe olarak yaşıyor. Zaten
birçok ev arasında dar
geçitler bulunuyor. Yine
anlatılanlara göre, eskiden
bir saldırı anında bu geçitleri
kullanarak evden eve geçen
köy sakinleri böylece canını
kurtarıyormuş. Cumalıkızık’ta,
yol gürültüsü çekme riskiniz
neredeyse hiç yok. Köyde
iki ana meydan bulunuyor.
All streets without sidewalks are
paved with stone. The houses
have been placed so as to suit
the inclined terrain of the village.
The central sections of stone
streets paved with flagstones
have been built in the form of a
hollow channel to enable rain
water to flow.
There are even streets in the
village which are so narrow that
two people cannot pass side by
side. The “Cin Aralığı” street is
known as one of the narrowest
streets in the world allowing only
one person to pass with difficulty.
Most streets are “dead ends”
since the houses are placed
side by side or back to back.
One can still see people riding
horses in streets which transform
into gushing rivers when it rains.
Hipped roofs are covered with
pantile… The roof protrusions are
wide, so as to enable passersby
to take shelter underneath them
