başladı. İlk kez Rus kozmolog
ve matematikçi Alexander
Freidmann’ın ortaya attığı
bu teorinin adı “Big Bang”
ya da “Büyük Patlama”
olarak kabul gördü ama
bu teori hiçbir zaman tam
anlamıyla kanıtlanıp bir
kurama dönüşemedi. İçinde
bulunduğumuz ve başka
canlılarla da paylaştığımız
düşünülen sonsuz boşluğun
bir başlangıcı olmalıydı.
Ancak bu başlangıcın nasıl
olduğu, evrenin nasıl oluştuğu
bugün bile bir kesinlik
kazanamadı. Üzerine binlerce
teori geliştirildi, kitaplar
yazıldı; filmler, diziler çekildi.
Uzay boşluğundan düşüp
gelen Alf, E.T. gibi hayali ve
sevimli yaratıkları evlerimize
kabul ettik. Star Wars ile
ışın kılıçlarını çektik, yıldız
kapılarından geçtik. Atılgan’a
bindik, Kaptan Kirk ve Mr.
Spock ile uzay yolculuklarına
çıktık. Yeşil kanlı “Ziyaretçiler”e
direndik, atası Alien (Yaratık)
olan nice uzay yaratıklarına
karşı yaşama savaşları verdik.
Oluşan teorilere kattığımız
hayal gücümüzle, hiç
göremediğimiz, gerçekliklerine
uzanamadığımız bir
sonsuzluğun kapılarını
aralamaya çalıştık. Uzay-
zaman sürekliliğini oluşturan,
uzayın üçüncü ve dördüncü
boyutlarını keşfetmeyi
denedik. Einstein ve Nathan
Rosen’in geliştirdiği ve
evrendeki kara delikler ile
beyaz delikler arasındaki
geçişi simgeleyen “Solucan
Delikleri” teorisinden “Yıldızlar
Arası” hikâyeler yarattık.
Ünlü isimleri uzay boşluğuna
gönderip “Yerçekimi”nden
mahrum bıraktık. Teleskopla
görebildiğimiz, yaklaşık 93
milyar ışık yılı genişliğindeki
evreni keşfedebilmişiz
gibi bir de onu bile içine
alacak büyüklükteki “paralel
evren”lere uzandık. Kendimizi,
sahip olduğumuz tüm zaman,
madde, mekân, enerji ve fizik
kurallarını içine alan genişlikte
çoklu evrenlerin varlığını
ispatlamaya adadık.
Bugüne dek ne anlattılarsa
onu bildik, ne gösterdilerse
onu gördük. Samanyolu
hikayeleri, kara delik efsaneleri
dinledik. Kocaman gözlü, ince
uzun parmaklı yaratıkların
gelip “Merhaba dünyalı, biz
things. However, it was never
clarified how it all started and
how the universe was created.
Thousands of hypotheses were
put forth, books were written;
movies and tv series were shot.
We welcomed imaginary and
pretty aliens such as Alf or E.T.
into our homes. We drew our
light sabers with Star Wars and
passed through star gates. We
embarked on the USS Enterprise
and travelled around in space
with Captain Kirk and Mr.
Spock. We resisted against the
“Visitors” with green blood and
fought against many creatures
from space like the Alien. We
tried to crack open the door of
infinity with our imagination we
mixed in with our hypotheses.
We tried to discover the third
and fourth dimensions of space
which comprise the space-
time continuum. We wrote
“Interstellar” stories based on the
“Wormhole” theory developed
by Einstein and Nathan Rosen
that symbolizes the passage
between black holes and white
holes. We sent famous names
out to space and left them devoid
of “Gravity”. We tried to reach out
to “parallel universes” that can
encompass our universe as if we
have been able to discover its 93
billion light year wide space. We
devoted ourselves to proving the
existence of multiverses that are
large enough to cover all laws of
time, matter, space, energy and
physics.
Until now, we only knew what
they told us and saw what they
showed us. We listened to tales
of Milky Way and legends of
black holes. We waited in vain
for bulbous eyed, thin fingered
creatures to come down and
say, “Hello earthling, I am your
friend.” We pinned our hopes
on meteorites that caught our
eyes as they drifted out in space;
we thought of them as the
death of a star. The universe we
never saw became one of our
beliefs with its secrets. We sent
messages, made wishes. Most
of us embraced the motto of
“seize the day” while taking their
inspiration from that meteor that
was rumored to “fall down from
the sky and destroy everything
one day”. Maybe we tried the
patience of the universe too
many times until now. Maybe that
is why it did not reveal its secrets
to us completely. But we still do
not believe that we are alone
here. The “UFO”s (Unidentified
flying Object) that have been
witnessed in increasing numbers
especially since the 50s indicate
that there is somebody out there.
They are either restless to be sharing
the same space with us or they are
happy and sometimes come down
to see how we live here without
showing themselves to us.
