Köprü kadar meşhur değil
ama yeşil tonları ve demir
gövdesiyle gayet estetik ve
fotojenik bir köprü. Benim
favori köprüm de bu oldu
Budapeşte’de.
Özgürlük Köprüsü’nün Peşte
tarafında yer alan kapalı
pazar Vasarcsarnok, Macar
salamları ve meşhur bitki
likörleri Unicum ile tanışmak
ve yerel halka karışmak için
ideal. Rengârenk çatısı ile
uzaklardan dahi dikkat çeken
kapalı pazar 19. yüzyılın
sonlarında inşa edilmiş. En
hareketli ve kalabalık olan giriş
katındaki balık ve meyve-
sebze reyonları gerçekten
etkileyici. Geleneksel Macar
mutfağından bir şeyler tatmak
isterseniz adresiniz en üst
kat. Pazar gezmekten ve
alışverişten yorulan bünyelere
tavsiyem ise yolun karşısındaki
“For Sale” isimli restoran-
bar. Tavanı ve duvarları yıllar
boyunca birikmiş kartvizitlerle,
zemini de kabuklarla kaplı
mekân sınırsız yer fıstığı
servisi ve bir Macar klasiği
olan Gulaş Çorbası ile ünlü.
İlk gulaş deneyimi için doğru
adrestesiniz. Muhtemelen
bazısı acı, bir diğeri çok
baharatlı gelecek ve en
azından 3–4 defa denemiş
olacaksınız. Bir yerden

quite expensive too. If you are
specifically interested and can
afford, I would suggest them.
Heroes’ Square and
Andrassy Boulevard
For our next target you will
stray from the river bank. The
Heroes’ Square at the end of
Andrassy Boulevard; Hösök Ter.
I suggest you take the subway
to the square and return on foot,
stopping on our targeted stops
on your way back. The subway to
the Heroes’ Square might be one
of the best you have ever seen.
The subway line travels close to
the surface and each of its small
stops is lovelier than the next.
Heroes’ Square looks really
grand with the Museum of
Fine Arts on the left, the Hall of
Art on the right, the Millenium
Monument completed in 1929
and at the center the column of
Arch Angel Gabriel. Since you
went all that way, do not neglect
to see the City Park right behind
it. The park, one of the getaway
spots of the Budapestians, hosts
the largest hot spring Széchen,
Europe’s largest zoo, a big
circus, an amusement park, and
the Vajdahunyad Castle.
Leaving Hösök Ter behind, the
wide boulevard that spreads
towards the Danube is Andrassy.
It is a district in the UNESCO
World Heritage List with the
historical places on it. The 2.5km
long boulevard is an architectural
recital with embassies,
museums, exhibition halls, and
the Opera building. Even if you
will not watch an opera you can
